Hello, I'm Carol

Australian Respite Care was established in 2019 by me, Carol Conway. 

I have a passion for working in the disability sector which was established many years ago, when as a young woman, I volunteered with YOORALLA in Balywn. I worked with the staff to take residents out into the community for social activities. My professional experience in the Disability and Aged Care sectors spans some 16 years, working with some of Australia’s largest support providers, including SCOPE, ST JOHN OF GOD ACCORD, BUPA and MECWACARE.

 

I have worked across a variety of roles, including the corporate areas of public relations, fund raising event management and case management, to the more hands-on role of client based direct support. I have also worked as a facilitator in the delivery of the Certificate IV Disability and Certificate III Individual Support (Aged Care) in both the private and TAFE sectors.

 

I hold the following qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Disability

• Certificate IV Aged Care Leisure & Lifestyle

• Certificate IV in Training and Education

• Diploma in Training and Education

• Qualified Aquatic Educator

• Level 1 First Aid

• WWCC

• Current Police check

• Current Victorian drivers license

• Current NDIS workers screening check

• COVID vaccinated and booster.

 

I am a passionate advocate for people of all abilities and believe it is important to support parents and family members caring for loved ones with life challenges. I am also passionate that people who work in the industry should be appropriately trained so they understand the complexities of the sector and work within the industry codes of conduct​.
